This is a personal work. Sometimes I like to paint, to humanize the caricatures, so the animals look alike humans. To make this job I had many offices, chimpanzees and gorillas references.
The boss (chimpanzee) turned out to be the easiest to do, because I found a good reference with an expression and illumination really close to what I wanted on the scene. For the Gorilla I didn’t have the ideal reference. Actually I realized that I was using references of different gorillas, with different fur, and than it took more time to choose which type of fur I would paint, therefore it took a great deal of time the chosen fur. I started drawing a few basic scratches to define proportion and the scene movement. After that I finalized the sketch and started paint it, but under the contour. When the basic colors and illumination was defined, I started overlaying the contour, making the render, painting the details and textures. Finally I made a little change on the chimpanzee’s shape, adding saliva and the glass pouring to look like there’s some movement on the scene.

In this work a used two brushes, one for the main paint and other to paint the glow effect.

Illustrations made for the campaign "It's a puberty thing" created for the Mentos Teens candy.These illustrations were inspired by the work of Mark Ryden. Made in Photoshop CS3 with just one brush sample. Took about 40 hours, from sketch to final paint. I hope you like it.

Caricature. In this work I've used spirals lines to turn the caricature a little more childish, making a joke with the Wolverine look and his personality. I had a hard work to finish the hair and the skin texture. Took about 25 hours, from sketch to final paint.

Job done on Adobe Photoshop for a Tattoo Studio.
I used the photoshop´s brush to paint the tattoos. For the butterfly and flower images I used a real picture and covered them

to adjust the ilumination.

Well, I have also used some adjustment layers and "dogde and burn" tools.

Just one more caricature... I was inspired after watching Rambo IV. Painted all in Photoshop. Took about 20 hours, from sketch to final paint, using just one standard brush.
